Position Overview: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to support the company’s growth objectives and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and systems to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to design and optimize manufacturing workflows, layouts, and equipment configurations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and risk assessments to evaluate new manufacturing technologies, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and production staff, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline production processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity through the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Analyze production data, performance metrics, and quality indicators to identify trends, root causes, and areas for optimization, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures as needed.
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to source equipment, materials, and technologies that meet quality standards, performance requirements, and cost objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices in manufacturing operations, promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and product lifecycle management (PLM) initiatives, coordinating with engineering, R&D, and production teams to ensure smooth transitions and successful launches.
- Drive continuous improvement projects, cost reduction initiatives, and operational excellence programs to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and increase throughput in manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related field required.
- Strong technical expertise in manufacturing processes, automation, machining, assembly, and quality control.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software required (NX preferred).
- Strong CNC Milling machine processing, tooling, and programming (4 and 5 axis machining) experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Lean Six Sigma certification and experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
