Salary: $110k-$130k/yr, depending on experience. Relocation assistance is offered for the right candidate.

Employment Terms: Mon – Fri, this position is primarily office-based. Some travel involved to project sites in BC.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience: 

  • Min 4 years of experience in electrical engineering, project management, and healthcare facility design.
  • Proven expertise in electrical, communication, and security systems.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with IM/IT or ICT systems
  • Experience working with the Canadian Electrical Code

 Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to changing project requirements and learn and implement industry-specific techniques, standards, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated precision and accountability in overseeing all aspects of projects to meet high standards.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams effectively and foster collaboration among team members.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards, ensuring that projects adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines. (ASHRAE, BCBC, NECB, Z32, C282, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring all electrical, communication, and security systems meet the highest standards.
  • Develop standards related to our electrical engineering practice, ensuring best practices for project delivery, and when applicable sustainable building construction
  • Implement advanced video surveillance, intrusion, access control, and duress systems.
  • Undertake complex feasibility and master planning studies to guide project development.
  • Leverage your extensive experience in healthcare projects, including power distribution system upgrades, IT infrastructure, nurse call system replacements, and more.
  • Oversee all facets related to contract administration and monitor client services.
  • When required, engage with diverse agencies for project approvals and permitting.
  • Work under the direction of the Healthcare Team Lead to project manage and develop construction document packages and reports
  • Liaise with clients
  • Oversee construction and commissioning process, and prepare documentation such as field reports, change orders, and shop drawing review
  • Assist lead Engineers with planning, studies, and assessments 
  • Prepare engineering studies and design calculations such as feeder sizing, voltage drop, overcurrent protection, fault current, lighting calculations, etc
  • Layout electrical equipment and wiring devices, branch circuiting, lighting design, life safety systems, communication systems, healthcare-specific systems, and security systems
  • Preparing electrical design mark-ups for the drafting department and coordinating electrical package production
  • Other duties as required.
