Our client is seeking qualified candidates for a Plant Engineer position at their two-unit coal-fired power plant. The company employs a wide range of knowledgeable and skilled individuals who work to deliver reliable, low-cost electric energy to rural America. Their workforce includes power plant personnel, engineers, electricians, line workers, technicians, accountants, and various other positions necessary for managing our unique business.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Previous industrial experience preferred but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation of construction drawings and specifications for plant process equipment.
  • Design and install new and replacement equipment.
  • Collaborate with consultants and contractors to achieve engineering objectives.
  • Troubleshoot existing systems with operations and maintenance to resolve safety or production issues with engineered solutions.
  • Identify technical and operational training needs; initiate action on capital and O&M projects.
  • Monitor work activity for safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
  • Assist in record-keeping of system work order files, standard drawings, and data files.
  • Analyze plant data and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor and recommend new technologies to improve the power plant’s efficiency, reliability, availability, and longevity.
  • Provide engineering support to other departments as required.
