This position is for a Maintenance Manager at a cement manufacturing plant. The role involves overseeing all maintenance activities, including repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, and coordination with other departments. The manager will supervise a team of employees, manage plant budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Maintenance Manager will also collaborate with vendors and contractors, plan and schedule maintenance projects, and handle personnel performance evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Regulations: Promote safety, ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, conduct safety meetings, and evaluate safety hazards.
- Team Management: Assign job responsibilities, set performance goals, and supervise maintenance personnel. Coordinate with plant management on priorities.
- Maintenance Oversight: Review, plan, and schedule all maintenance activities, including shutdowns. Supervise repair activities and ensure preventive maintenance is carried out.
- Budgeting and Planning: Develop and implement maintenance budgets, including capital expenditures. Coordinate with the Plant Manager on plant goals and strategies.
- Vendor and Contractor Relations: Work with vendors on equipment and supplies, and supervise contractors for specified repairs.
- Training and Development: Conduct training for new and existing employees on maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering).
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a cement manufacturing facility, with specific exposure to management responsibilities. Experience supervising a team of at least 30 people is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to read, write, and understand safety documentation. Proficiency in maintenance management in a manufacturing environment.
