POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Construction Worker at Vista Stair and Handrail Ltd., you will play a vital role in supporting various construction activities at our sites. This position involves assisting tradespersons, handling materials, and ensuring the work area is organized and safe. You will work under the direction of supervisors to contribute to the efficient and timely completion of projects, helping to maintain our high standards of quality and safety.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and transport construction materials to designated work areas on site.
- Assemble and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades as required for stair and handrail installation.
- Mix and apply materials such as concrete to support installation activities.
- Support tradespersons, including carpenters and cement finishers, in construction tasks related to stair and handrail projects.
- Assist equipment operators by securing attachments and guiding equipment movement during construction activities.
- Level and prepare surfaces using tools like rakes and shovels to meet project specifications.
- Remove construction debris and clean up sites using appropriate tools such as shovels and wheelbarrows.
- Operate construction tools and machinery such as pneumatic hammers and vibrators under supervision.
- Maintain and lubricate equipment, including hoists and similar machinery, to ensure smooth operation.
- Direct site traffic to ensure the safety of workers and the public around construction areas.
- Participate in site cleanup, including handling hazardous materials, as directed by supervisors.
- Perform additional construction-related tasks as assigned to support project completion.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
