POSITION SUMMARY:
The Carpenters will be responsible for a range of carpentry tasks including framing, formwork, and other general carpentry duties essential for the completion of landscape construction projects. These roles require flexibility to assist with general labor tasks as needed. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in construction carpentry, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team to deliver high-quality results on time.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate necessary materials.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment like circular saws, routers, pneumatic nail guns, and drills.
- Ensure layouts conform to building codes using precise measurements.
- Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, formwork, and installing structural components (e.g., walls, roofs).
- Fit and install trim items, including doors, stairs, and hardware.
- Lead and supervise apprentices and other workers.
- Assist with preparing cost estimates when required.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience: 1 year of work experience as a Carpenter
- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
- Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
