We are looking for an Estimator/Draftsperson to join our engineering team. This is a dual-function role at the heart of our project workflow — combining technical drafting with accurate, competitive project estimating.
We build critical, custom equipment for demanding industries across North America and beyond — mining, forestry, energy, and automation. You will work closely with a skilled and innovative engineering team and contribute directly to projects from initial quote through to manufacturing.
We are open to an experienced candidate who can hit the ground running, or a technically sharp individual with the drive and aptitude to grow into the role. Experience in machinery or equipment manufacturing is required. Existing industry contacts in mining, forestry, or energy are a strong advantage.

Duties:
- Prepare and maintain accurate manufacturing drawings for machining and fabrication project’s, project cost estimates based on drawings, material requirements, and production scope.
- Support the engineering team with drawing revisions, BOMs, and documentation.
- Liaise with engineering, production, and management to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.
- Assist with quoting, proposal preparation, and project handover documentation.
- Maintain drawing and document control standards.
Skills
Experienced Candidate
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and technical drafting for manufacturing environments.
- Experience with cost estimating in a machinery, equipment, or custom fabrication context.
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma or related qualification.
- Existing contacts in mining, forestry, energy, or industrial sectors is a distinct advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret complex engineering specifications.
- Effective communication skills across engineering, production, and management teams.
Emerging Candidate
- Technical background with genuine interest in engineering and manufacturing.
- Some exposure to drafting, estimating, or engineering coursework.
- Detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and motivated to build a career in a hands-on environment.
- Willingness to learn SolidWorks and estimating processes with mentorship from our team.
