Located just a 25 minute drive from Vaughan, Newmarket, and Aurora, King, ON is a great option for those who like the small town life but still want to be close to bigger communities. A few draws of the township are the multiple heritage sites, three arenas, Centennial Mountain ​​Biking Park, and Cold Creek Conservation Area, and Seneca College.

Salary: $30-$40/hr, depending on experience. Incentive bonus program based on goals.

Shifts: Mon-Fri, some OT/Saturdays required. 

Education: 

  • 310T or Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic ticket required.

  • Class A Mechanic’s License preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in the medium/heavy duty truck or automotive industry

  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.

  • Experience working with commercial equipment, machinery and vehicles.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of product and technical knowledge.

  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to vehicle safety.

  • Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must conduct his/herself in a professional manner.

  • Have the ability to work other shifts for coverage of sick days or vacation relief.

  • Have the ability to deal with large volumes of work and stressful situations.

  • Ability to lead, guide and mentor apprentices in the shop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate.

  • Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.

  • Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.

  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.

  • Accurate completion of work orders and time cards on paper or electronically (tablet).

  • Complete a “Quick-check” to determine the need for other unrelated repairs and advise the manager of potential future issues.

  • Other duties as required.

Working conditions:

  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

  • Hazards associated with the trade.

  • Travel to off-site locations may be required.

  • Work both indoors and outdoors.

  • May be exposed to construction sites.
