Salary: Competitive, depending on experience. Premium on afternoon shift.

Shifts: Straight days to start with potential to move to afternoon shift. 

  • Day Shift (Monday to Friday 6:30am – 2:30pm). 
  • Afternoon shift (Monday – Thursday 2:30 pm – 12:30 am).

Education: Journeyman Tool and Die Maker licence preferred. 2nd-year apprentices and up may be considered.  


  • 2 years of experience required, preferably in automotive stamping.
  • New die build experience required. 
  • Able to troubleshoot dies on the press.
  • CAD and CNC experience an asset. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of technical specifications, engineering drawings & GD&T.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and experience.
  • Familiarity with operating various tool room machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to project the steps needed to accomplish tasks, foresee potential problems for correction.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Should have own tools.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Building precision dies to a professional caliber, accurate to the design drawings, and within the intended schedule.
  • Safely operate equipment that could include saws, drills, grinders, lathes, mills, die presses, electrical discharge machines, conventional and numerically controlled metal-cutting and forming machines
  • Dismantle, repair or replace worn-out tooling, dies or fixtures.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, tooling drawings and work process documentation.
  • Identify and establish Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when needed for disposition.
  • Document Internal Work Orders (IWO) for set completion times.
  • Other duties as assigned by Toolroom Supervisor or Manager.
