Education:
- Journeyperson certification, Red Seal, or Gold Seal Certification accreditation, a strong asset.
- Professional Engineering accreditation, education or experience is a strong asset.
- Driver’s license and clean abstract required.
Experience: 5+ years of construction estimating experience in the industrial, commercial, and institutional construction industry required. Multi-unit, concrete tower experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare tender and proposal responses and associated deliverables (bonds, insurance, etc.)
- Prepare estimates for review prior to submission of quotations or bids.
- Manage document distribution through estimate phase internally and externally.
- Prepare PBA (Preliminary Budget Assessment) complete with project statistics, scope preparation and summary.
- Review schematic drawings analysis and provide key notes.
- Conduct site and neighbourhood analysis and attend site visits and meetings, as directed.
- Work closely with the Manager and PM team to produce well prepared cost plans (estimates, scopes, VE, schedule, risk analysis, variance reports).
- Arrange meetings with key subcontractors, as needed.
- Perform and manage all labour, material and equipment take-offs and associated pricing.
- Communicate with all required subtrades for each tender to ensure understanding and completeness of scope.
- Ensure all required information is completed and assembled prior to the tender deadline.
- Coordinate preparation of full estimates, identifying inherent risks and opportunities.
- Assemble complete accounting packages prior to job start-up to manage the financial control of the project.
- Assist with the transition of projects from estimating to project management.
- Assist project manager with supplemental estimating to support changes and/or significant changes in scope.
- Assist the project managers in the resolution of commercial issues with clients and subcontractors, particularly where issues relate to original bid/proposal.
- Review project financial reports for variations from budget/estimate.
- Assist the Manager of Pre-Construction and Estimating in compiling historical data for incorporation in future estimates.
- Other duties as required.
