**Structures Superintendent**
OverviewThe Structures Superintendent oversees all aspects of bridge construction on design-build projects, managing field crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project completion. This role involves proactive planning, coordination, and communication to meet project goals and maintain safety standards.
 
Key Responsibilities– Forecast upcoming work, including subcontractors, restrictions, and events, to develop efficient methods and safety action plans, communicating these to the Bridges Manager and foremen.  – Plan daily operations, ensuring adequate labor, tools, equipment, and materials are available for timely task completion.  – Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and other project documents to ensure field work aligns with the latest requirements.  – Ensure crews work safely, efficiently, and to the project’s quality standards.  – Coordinate work, trucking, material supply, equipment needs, shop maintenance, and subcontractor activities.  – Drive short-term scheduling (3-week look-ahead) and align with project milestones.  – Collaborate with the Bridges Manager to identify and document changes, such as site conditions, delays, or quantity variations, that may impact the project.  – Oversee crew performance, ensuring alignment with company goals, safety audits, and policies, and take action (e.g., training, discipline) as needed.  – Conduct daily crew briefings to review production goals, safety, schedules, hazards, and gather worker input.  – Promote and enforce safe work practices, ensuring proper safety equipment is used by all field personnel.  – Communicate with subcontractors to align on work coordination and project objectives.  
Qualifications– Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a superintendent in civil bridge or concrete infrastructure construction.  – Familiarity with HCSS/HeavyJob is preferred.  – Experience with bridge girder installation, bridge deck machines, steel/concrete diaphragms, and Borg System is preferred.  – Ability to read and interpret project documents, including schedules, plans, and specifications.  – Strong leadership skills to oversee and clearly communicate instructions to crews.  – Comprehensive understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions relevant to the work.  – Capability to follow and execute instructions expertly.  – Proficiency in maintaining records and preparing reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and project file updates.  – Willingness to perform additional administrative or project-related tasks as assigned.  – Valid driver’s license required.
