Journeyman Truck Transport Mechanic – Winnipeg, MB

Our Client specializes in maintaining a fleet of trucks dedicated to waste hauling. Our team in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a skilled Licensed Journeyman Truck Transport Mechanic to join us. We focus on diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical, engine, and emission systems, as well as performing preventative maintenance, brake, suspension, and driveline repairs. Hourly Rate: $40.24 per hour, unionized with shift premiums Signing Bonus up to $5000 to be paid out over 1st year of employment

Shifts: Tuesday to Friday – 2:00 pm to 12:30 am (4X10s) (with some flexibility given based on needs of candidate)

  • Red Seal or Journeyman’s Ticket in Heavy Duty Truck and Transport / OnRoad with 5 years experience
  • Manitoba safety certificate
  • Class 5 driver license (class 3 or higher would be an asset)
  • Desire to grow into a Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Manager
  • Mack truck experience (asset)
  • Hydraulic experience (asset)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment in safe working condition
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards
  • Conduct inspections, repairs, and maintenance efficiently and courteously
  • Record work orders, parts, and safety checks accurately
  • Collaborate with senior mechanics and learn new equipment servicing
  • Other duties as required
