We are seeking extraordinary, enthusiastic Industrial Electrician to join our Operations team! 

Reporting into the Operations Manager, we are recruiting for a full-time Industrial Electrician will be responsible to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical equipment and controls in a fast-paced beverage packaging environment.

What you Offer:

  • Ontario or Inter-Provincial (442A/309A/Red Seal) Electrician Certificate of Qualification required. 
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Food and Beverage manufacturing or Packaging background is preferred. 
  • Strong background troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs and experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Schneider and B&R controls. 
  • Knowledge of VFDs and servo drives preferred 
  • Project managements skills: ability and desire to take initiative and responsibility for improvement projects and see it through to completion. 
  • Experience with Maintenance Management Systems is an asset 
  • Working knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash protection requirements is required. 
  • Must be able to perform rotating shift work if required. Ability to be on call if required. 
  • Strong computer literacy & knowledge of MS Office tools required.

What you will be doing: 

  • Perform general industrial electrical maintenance, install, repair, diagnose and maintain packaging equipment including preventative and unplanned maintenance. 
  • Test, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust and repair analog components, digital and logic circuits, microprocessor-controlled devices, programmable logic and automation controllers, electronic process measurement systems and electronic controllers, HMIs, VFDs and servo drives. 
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime. Analyze equipment downtime, determine root cause and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Perform common electrical installations and modifications including conduit and cable install, electrical equipment mounting, industrial automation system installation and lighting system repair/installation. 
  • Perform basic PLC programming for breakdown resolution, equipment performance enhancement and optimization. 
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals, ladder diagrams, PLC ladder and sequential function charts, control loop diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams. 
  • Assist in the design of basic electrical control systems, support electrical installations and capital projects. 
  • Perform maintenance activities according to specifications, using best practices, following Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with food safety standards. 
  • Promote compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety and Environmental standards at all times. 
  • Follow safe work procedures and practices and report all unsafe working conditions / hazards to the reporting Manager. 
  • Work closely with production team members to resolve equipment issues and improve efficiency. 
  • Follow good housekeeping procedures and maintain a tidy, clean and safe work area on the floor and in the maintenance shop. 
  • Ensure that all required documentation is completed correctly and on time including timesheets, maintenance logs, equipment monitoring and operational forms, work orders and inventory counts. 
  • Attend project and continuous improvement meetings, liaise with suppliers and complete requisitions for parts and supplies.
