Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic 

Department: Mountain Operations

Reports to: Heavy-Duty Mechanic Forman

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a varied position responsible for maintaining our company’s entire fleet of vehicles and equipment, including loaders, snow groomers, snowplows, and buses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will identify and prioritize vehicle maintenance requirements.

You will carry out vehicle equipment maintenance and repairs on all Mt Seymour vehicles and machinery as needed.

You will ensure that all manufacturer’s guidelines and government regulations regarding vehicle maintenance and repair are followed.

Shipping and receiving of materials as required.

Maintaining records regarding maintenance work performed, materials used, quality, and cost control.

You will ensure a high standard in all finished work while remaining cost-effective.

You’ll be responsible for thorough record keeping and the reporting of equipment status including but not limited to work performed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold an Inter-Provincial Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman’s ticket or equivalent experience.

Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.

Willing and able to work in all weather conditions while performing labor-intensive duties.

Own vehicle required to travel to and from work.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

Five 8-hour shifts/week, some weekends, and evenings. (October-April)

Four 10-hour shifts/week during the off-season (May-September) 

Up to 80 hours of OT can be banked in winter season to be used in summer months.
