Salary: $28.00 Hourly for 35 hours per week

Wood for Life is a family-owned flooring company that has been proudly serving both residential and commercial customers in the Greater Toronto Area over the past 7 years. We offer a wide array of flooring options, including hardwood, laminate, cork, luxury vinyl tile or plank, carpet (broadloom) and carpet tile as well as area rugs.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Floor Covering Installer is responsible for perform inspections and consult with clients to deliver appropriate flooring solutions.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding
• Measure, cut and install carpeting using hand or machine stitcher, seaming iron, bonding tape or other bonding materials
• Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power stretcher and secure carpeting to floor or other surfaces using staple gun or other devices
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor covering using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools
• Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples, nails or other means
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
• May estimate material and labour costs.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

·       Education: Completion of High School

·       Experience: 1 year of experience as a Floor Covering Installer.

·       Language: Speak English, Read English, Write English
