Working with marine fiberglass is a must
Repainting experience a must
Experience with gel coat is helpful but not mandatory.
Woodworking carpentry skills are considered as an asset.
Valid BC driver’s license and clean driving history.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge of laminating products, techniques and procedures.
Problem resolution and repair skills and be passionate about high-quality work.
Self-motivated, flexible and willing to research and learn new equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Enjoy contributing to and being part of a successful team
Excellent communications and customer service skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate must be capable of performing glass work from minor repairs and gel coat touch ups to larger structural repairs and modifications.
Perform all preparations and laminating of repairs to all types of fiberglass and composite construction of recreational and small commercial watercraft
Perform all preparations, coating and finishing to all types of paint, gelcoat, varnish, stains or other finishes
Stage and cover vessel repair jobs as needed
Clean up job and residues from process when complete returning boat to a condition better than received.
Organize and maintain workspace
Organize and Maintain shop tools and equipment
Communicate with service and parts team members to ensure priorities and schedules are maintained & supplies and parts requirements are satisfied.
Inspect and estimate repair times for customer units in coordination with the service coordinator
