Our client, a family-run organic food grower and manufacturer, is seeking a dual-ticketed Maintenance Millwright/Electrician to join their team in Abbotsford, BC. This role will be responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment on the production line as well as for installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment. This role is physically demanding as you will be lifting, moving, and handling large parts of equipment for the bulk of your job. Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.

  • Afternoon Shift: 3PM -11PM
  • Night Shift: 11PM – 7:30AM

Requirements:

  • Red Seal or Journey-level Millwright AND Electrician certification
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to lift up to 23kg
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite
  • Excellent mathematical and mechanical skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Valid Drivers’ licence required. 
  • Experience and/or education in lean manufacturing; Six Sigma an asset
  • 5th Class Power Engineer certificate of qualification an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and tractors, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, load reactors, electrical motors, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic, electrical control systems, industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Other duties as required.
