Brooklyn is often hailed for its unique blend of hipster culture, arts scene, and iconic landmarks. It is famous for its brownstone townhouses and converted lofts. Once a home for incoming immigrants via Ellis Island, Brooklyn has evolved into the world capital of hip. Traces of the old guard stand proud among the more recent wave of stylish restaurants, bars, art galleries, and indie shops in Brooklyn’s lively, multicultural neighborhoods. The borough’s green spaces—Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Bridge Park—are second to none. And the dynamic dining scene, from dim sum parlors to classic pizzerias to farm-to-table eateries, rivals that of Manhattan.
