Required Skills:
- Experience in operating and maintaining Drum Mix and Batch Plant systems.
- Proficiency in asphalt mix designs and adjustments.
- Electrical and welding experience for equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with OH&S regulations and protocols.
- Skilled in Loader operation and PC-based plant operation systems.
- While a Red Seal certification is not mandatory, any relevant certifications related to asphalt plant operations and OH&S are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience maintaining asphalt plants.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operation of the asphalt plant, including firing up procedures, production oversight, and maintaining inventory levels.
- Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor to coordinate truck schedules and off-sales.
- Perform maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshoot equipment issues, including scales, burners, and dryers.
- Manage inbound aggregate trucks and outbound product shipments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OH&S and WHMIS standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to up-and-coming plant operators.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality control and asphalt mix adjustments.
- Collaborate with HR and participate in the onboarding of new plant personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety and teamwork, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
