POSITION SUMMARY:
The Moving Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to transport clients’ belongings between locations while ensuring a professional and positive customer experience. This role involves loading and unloading furniture and household or commercial goods with care, securing items for transport, and following all traffic and safety regulations. The driver must maintain accurate delivery records, inspect and maintain vehicle condition, and work collaboratively with moving crew members to complete each move efficiently and on schedule. A commitment to safety, punctuality, customer service, and teamwork is essential to the success of this position.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate and drive company straight trucks to transport household and commercial goods on local and regional routes.
• Load, secure, and unload items safely, ensuring proper handling and protection of clients’ belongings.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
• Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service throughout each move.
• Communicate with dispatchers and clients to coordinate schedules, routes, and delivery updates.
• Record trip details, including hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel usage.
• Ensure all cargo is properly secured using straps, blankets, and other equipment to prevent damage.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or delays promptly to management.
• Follow all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Ministry of Transportation regulations.
• Assist team members with lifting, assembling, and placing furniture at client locations as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Experience: 1 year of work experience as a Moving Truck Driver
• Education: Completion of secondary school
• Languages: Proficiency in English
• Valid AZ class driver’s licence (or equivalent) with a clean driving record
