Facilities Maintenance Supervisor – Surrey, BC

Are you a Red Seal Certified Electrician that has solid supervisory experience in commercial/facilities maintenance environment? Our client located in Surrey, BC is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join their team! Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the physical architectural, mechanical, plumbing, building fabric systems/equipment, electronic, electrical and group keeping in Surrey site. The successful candidate must have FSR certificate (Class B or A) and will be responsible in supervising work of contractors and employees to help achieve specific operational objectives.  Additionally, working at the RCMP E Division Headquarters requires the candidate to go through a RCMP clearance.

  • Must be a Certified Red Seal Electrician
  • FSR Class B or A Certificate is a must


  • At least 5-10 years of experience as a Supervisor in a maintenance environment or similar role
  • Experience with Electrical, Building Maintenance Systems (BMS), and HVAC systems is a must

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a crew of maintenance employees who keep a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient building for the facility users
  • Implement, investigate, supervise, and resolve safe and efficient operation of the physical mechanical, electrical, electronic, plumbing and building fabric systems/equipment and grounds keeping on site
  • Ensure all appropriate maintenance employees are trained and able to perform their duties safely and supervise a maintenance work order system to efficiently track work orders
  • Interpret operating instructions and write reports, demonstrate knowledge and expertise of electrical, carpentry, mechanical, building envelopes maintenance and repairs
  • Supervise the maintenance of the site grounds, painting and general repairs to each building envelope as required
  • Track/optimize equipment reliability and conduct preventative maintenance schedules
  • Regularly examines, maintain, repair building maintenance
  • Order material and make recommendations as needed

Work requirements:  

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have been living in Canada continuously for the past 5 years
  • Required to undergo RCMP Security Clearance, inclusive but not limited to a criminal check, financial check, and interviews with various points of contact. May take up to 3-6 months to process; if hired the candidate will be working at a different site until clearance process is complete
